MI London have signed four of the best T20 cricketers in the world to represent the team in The Hundred. Rashid Khan is retained after representing the Oval Invincibles in 2025 and is joined by Nicholas Pooran, Hayley Matthews and Melie Kerr.
Rashid Khan helped the men’s team to the title in 2025, taking 12 wickets in just six games. Khan is one of the greatest T20 cricketers of all-time and has taken more wickets in the format than any other player. He has more than 1,000 wickets across all formats of the game and is also an explosive lower-order batter. He has played franchise cricket around the world, including the IPL, BBL and SA20. He currently represents the MI franchises in Cape Town and New York.
Hayley Matthews has been a driving force in women’s cricket globally. The West Indies captain, she has 12 international centuries and over 6,000 international runs to go with more than 130 wickets – a versatile skill-set that has made her one of the most complete players in T20 cricket. She was named Wisden’s Leading Twenty20 Cricketer in the World in 2023 and has been a consistent presence in ICC Teams of the Year. Matthews has represented Mumbai Indians throughout the WPL and was the leading wicket-taker in the inaugural 2023 season.
Nicholas Pooran has more than 10,000 T20 runs and is one of the most explosive batters in world cricket. The wicket-keeper batter captained the West Indies in white-ball cricket, playing 167 times for his country. He has played franchise cricket all around the world, representing the MI franchises in the ILT20, MLC and SA20 and has been a leading player in the IPL for many years.
Amelia Kerr had a stellar year in 2024 when she became the first female player to win both Player of the Tournament and Player of the Final honours in the same ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. Kerr has been a cornerstone of Mumbai Indians success in the Women’s Premier League, playing a key role in MI’s inaugural WPL title win in 2023 and being the leading wicket-taker in the 2025 edition. The all-rounder has represented the London Spirit and Manchester Originals in The Hundred.
The four overseas players join Sam Curran, Will Jacks and Danni Wyatt-Hodge who have already been announced for the MI London and concludes the business of the teams ahead of the auction.
”The signings we have made have built a terrific backbone for both the men’s and women’s teams. Fans were wowed by the performances of Rashid Khan at the Kia Oval last summer and Nicholas Pooran is an incredibly dynamic and exciting cricketer.
