Australia batter Josh Philippe will replace Sherfane Rutherford in the MI London squad for the opening game of The Hundred 2026

Philippe will be available for the opening match against Sunrisers Leeds on Tuesday 21 July only. Sherfane Rutherford is unavailable for the opener due to being part of the West Indies ODI squad.

Josh Philippe stays at the Kia Oval after an impressive seven-game stint with Surrey, which saw him score 231 runs at an average of 57.75, striking at an impressive 161.53.

Philippe, who was born in Western Australia, has played 21 white ball matches for Australia. He represents the Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League.

Sherfane Rutherford is scheduled to arrive ahead of MI London’s second match at Welsh Fire on Saturday 25 July.
